Bodyweight Standing Around the World Wall-Supported
This exercise is a fantastic way to train your body in a unique way, using your own body weight and a wall for support. It helps improve your balance, coordination, and strength in your arms and shoulders.
Execution
-
1
Start by standing facing a wall, approximately one arm's length away.
-
2
Place your hands against the wall at shoulder height.
-
3
Lean forward until your body forms an angle of approximately 45 degrees with the wall.
-
4
Move your hands in a circular motion around your head, as if drawing a large circle on the wall, while supporting your body weight.
-
5
Make sure your movements are controlled and smooth.
-
6
Repeat the movement in the opposite direction.
Benefits
In addition to strengthening the muscle groups mentioned above, this exercise also improves your posture and shoulder flexibility. It is an excellent exercise for people who spend a lot of time sitting at a desk and experience stiff shoulders.
Common Mistakes
- ! Moving too quickly: It is important to perform the movement in a controlled and slow manner to prevent injuries.
- ! Standing too far from the wall: This makes the exercise less effective and can lead to overloading the shoulders.
Targeted Muscles
This exercise primarily targets the deltoids (shoulders), triceps, and chest muscles, and to a lesser extent the core muscles for stability.
Possible Alternatives
To adjust the intensity of the exercise, you can stand closer to or farther from the wall. The closer you stand to the wall, the easier the exercise becomes. For an additional challenge, you can use a resistance band by placing it around your wrists while performing the movements.
