Downward Dog to Child’s Pose
The combination of Downward Dog and Child’s Pose is a soothing yet effective way to stretch and strengthen your body. This exercise helps improve flexibility in your shoulders, hamstrings, and calves while also providing relaxation and reducing stress.
Execution
-
1
Begin in a high plank position with your hands directly under your shoulders and your feet hip-width apart.
-
2
Push your hips up and back so that your body forms an inverted V shape. This is the Downward Dog position.
-
3
Make sure your hands are pressed firmly into the floor and try to bring your heels as close to the floor as possible.
-
4
Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, bring your knees to the floor, lower your hips toward your heels, and gently rest your forehead on the floor. This is Child’s Pose.
-
5
Stay in this position for a few breaths, then return to the Downward Dog position.
