What stands out in 2024?
Worksite health promotion in second place shows that fitness was also organized outside the gym. Employers more often looked at health, absenteeism and sustainable employability.
Fitness programs for older adults in third place confirms active aging as a core trend. The market focused more strongly on strength, balance and functioning later in life.
Exercise for mental health in the top ten shows that fitness is not only about weight, appearance or performance. Stress, mood and mental resilience became more visible.
What does this mean for people who train?
For people who train, 2024 made clear that fitness can be broader than training harder. Health, mental balance and consistency became more important.
Run your fitness business with more structure
- Planning, member management and coaching in one platform
- Built for coaches, studios and gyms
- Fewer separate tools, more overview
Mobile exercise apps and wearables could help make routines easier to maintain. The value is mainly in consistency and feedback.
What does this mean for gyms and coaches?
For clubs, opportunities emerged outside the standard membership. Corporate wellness, senior programs and mental health called for different products.
The high position of certified professionals underlines that trust matters. Especially for health and older target groups, expertise is not a luxury.
How does 2024 fit into the longer trend?
2024 is a year of broadening. In 2025, wearables and apps remain high, but strength training and data-driven training receive more emphasis again.
