What stands out in 2015?
The top three combine practical training with professional quality. Bodyweight training and HIIT are accessible, but the market continued to value knowledgeable trainers.
Strength training remained firmly in the top five. The foundation of getting stronger therefore did not disappear with the rise of short workouts.
Yoga and functional fitness show that mobility, control and everyday movement increasingly became part of fitness programs.
What does this mean for exercisers?
For exercisers, 2015 offered a lot of freedom. An effective program no longer had to revolve entirely around machines or long cardio sessions.
Run your fitness business with more structure
- Planning, member management and coaching in one platform
- Built for coaches, studios and gyms
- Fewer separate tools, more overview
The pitfall was that bodyweight training was sometimes underestimated. Progress still requires planning, variation and good execution.
What does this mean for gyms and coaches?
For clubs, bodyweight training was interesting because it is easy to scale. With limited equipment, trainers could still build complete classes.
The combination with personal training created room for hybrid services: independent exercises, group classes and targeted coaching side by side.
How does 2015 fit into the longer trend?
2015 connects the HIIT breakthrough of 2014 with the wearable wave of 2016. The year shows that simplicity and measurability both became structural themes.
