  5. 5
Slowly extend your arms upward, keeping your hands and elbows against the wall, then return to the W position.
  6. 6
Repeat this movement for 10–15 repetitions.

Benefits

This exercise helps improve posture by strengthening the muscles needed to pull your shoulders back. It may also help reduce neck and shoulder pain by strengthening the upper back and improving shoulder mobility.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Not pressing your lower back, shoulders, and head fully against the wall.
  • ! Not keeping your elbows and hands against the wall during the exercise.
  • ! Moving through the movements too quickly without maintaining tension in the muscles.

Key Muscles

The Wall W primarily targets the deltoids, rotator cuff, trapezius, and rhomboid muscles in your upper back.

Possible Alternatives

If the Wall W is too challenging, try performing the exercise seated on a chair while still keeping your back straight and performing the movements. For more intensity, you can add light hand weights while performing the movements.
