Under-Knee Calf Raise

This exercise is a fantastic way to strengthen and define your calf muscles. What is unique about the Under-Knee Calf Raise is that it targets the lower part of your calf muscles, which is often overlooked in traditional calf exercises.

Execution

  1. 1
    Begin by standing on an elevated surface or a step, with only your toes and the balls of your feet on the step. Your heels should hang freely in the air.

    Make sure you have a firm grip on a railing or another fixed object for balance.
  3. 3
    Slowly lower your heels below the level of the step until you feel a stretch in the lower part of your calf muscles.

    Then press yourself upward through the balls of your feet until you are standing on your toes and your calf muscles are fully contracted.

    Repeat this movement for the desired number of repetitions.
