  6. 6
Exhale and use your triceps to press the bar back to the starting position.
  7. 7
Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Benefits

  • Isolation of the triceps for effective muscle building.
  • Improved arm strength that is useful for other exercises.
  • Improves shoulder stability through the involvement of the upper back and shoulders.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Allowing the elbows to flare out too far, which can lead to less effective training and possible injuries.
  • ! Performing the movement too quickly, placing more emphasis on momentum than muscular strength.
  • ! Not fully extending the arms at the top of the movement, which reduces the effectiveness of the exercise.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the triceps brachii, while also lightly involving the shoulders and upper back muscles in the movement.

Possible Alternatives

  • If an EZ bar is not available, you can use dumbbells for a similar movement.
  • For a lighter variation, you can perform the exercise seated, which helps stabilize the back more.
  • To increase the intensity, try performing the exercise with one arm at a time, which requires more balance and coordination.
