Benefits

  • Improves muscle balance between the left and right sides of the body.
  • Increases shoulder joint stability.
  • Strengthens the core by maintaining balance during the exercise.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Moving the weights up and down too quickly — keep your movements controlled.
  • ! Using weights that are too heavy, causing your form to break down — start light and increase gradually.
  • ! Arching your back during the exercise — keep your back straight and your core engaged.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the deltoids (shoulder muscles), while the triceps, upper back, and core are also engaged for stability.

Possible Alternatives

  • For a lighter variation, you can perform the exercise seated; this helps stabilize your back.
  • Use resistance bands instead of dumbbells for a different form of resistance.
  • Increase the intensity by taking a short break after each set and increasing the number of repetitions.
