Benefits

  • Improves strength in the lower-body muscles.
  • Increases core stability and balance.
  • Helps burn calories by engaging multiple muscle groups.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Leaning too far forward with the upper body, which can place strain on the lower back.
  • ! Allowing the knees to travel too far past the toes, which can lead to knee problems.
  • ! Not lowering deeply enough, reducing the effectiveness of the exercise.

Important Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and core for stability.

Possible Alternatives

  • To increase the intensity, you can add weights such as dumbbells or a barbell.
  • For lower intensity or if you have knee problems, try performing the movement less deeply.
  • As a variation, you can also add a lateral step to engage the lateral glutes more.
