Instructions
- Begin on your hands and knees with your hands directly under your shoulders and your knees under your hips.
- Inhale and let your abdomen drop toward the floor while lifting your head and buttocks toward the ceiling. This is the “Cow” position.
- Exhale and engage your abdominal muscles while rounding your back toward the ceiling and bringing your head down. This is the “Cat” position.
- Repeat this movement for 10 to 15 repetitions.

This exercise primarily works the muscles of the spine, the rectus abdominis (abdominal muscles), and the erector spinae (back muscles).
Possible Alternatives
