Execution

  1. 1
Begin in the water with your body extended and your arms in front of you.
  2. 2
Push your hands outward and then draw them back toward your chest in a circular motion while keeping your elbows high.
  3. 3
At the same time, bend your knees and draw your feet toward you. Then perform a powerful backward kicking motion.
  4. 4
Extend your body again and repeat the movement for the next stroke.

Benefits

  • Improves whole-body flexibility and strength.
  • Enhances cardiovascular health without high impact on the joints.
  • Helps improve breathing technique and lung capacity.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Not fully extending at the beginning and end of each stroke.
  • ! Using too much force with the arms instead of a smooth, controlled movement.
  • ! Not fully extending the legs during the kicking motion.

主要 Muscles

Breaststroke primarily trains the chest muscles, shoulders, triceps, upper back, and core muscles. Your leg muscles also get a good workout from the kicking motion.

Possible Alternatives

  • To increase the intensity, try swimming faster or use swim fins.
  • For lower intensity, focus on slower, more controlled movements.
  • If swimming is not possible, consider dryland exercises that simulate the breaststroke movement.
