Execution

  1. 1
Find a stable chair or bench and place it behind you.
  2. 2
Place your feet on the chair and your hands on the floor so that your body forms a straight line from your head to your heels.
  3. 3
Place your hands close together under your chest so that your thumbs and index fingers form a diamond shape (or triangle).
  4. 4
Lower yourself slowly by bending your elbows until your chest almost touches the floor.
  5. 5
Press yourself explosively back up to the starting position.
  6. 6
Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Benefits

  • Increased activation of the chest and triceps muscles due to the decline position.
  • Strengthens the core through the need to keep your body in a stable position.
  • Improved muscle definition and upper-body strength.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Lowering or rising too quickly: Focus on a controlled movement to achieve maximum muscle activation.
  • ! Placing your feet too high: Make sure the chair or bench is not too high to avoid overloading the shoulders.
  • ! Elbows too far out: Keep your elbows close to your body to maintain the focus on the triceps and chest.

Primary Muscles

The Decline Chair Diamond Push-Up primarily targets the chest muscles (pectoralis major), triceps, and anterior shoulder muscles (anterior deltoids). The core muscles are also activated to keep the body stable during the exercise.

Possible Alternatives

  • For beginners: Start with standard push-ups or knee push-ups to build strength.
  • For an extra challenge: Increase the height of the chair or add a weighted vest.
  • Vary the position of your hands to emphasize different muscle groups.
