  6. 6

Benefits

The chest stretch with an exercise ball helps improve chest-muscle flexibility, reduces muscle tension, and may contribute to better posture. It is also an excellent way to promote recovery after an intense chest workout.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Moving into the stretch too quickly, which can lead to muscle strains.
  • ! Failing to support your back sufficiently, which can cause back pain.
  • ! Not controlling your breathing; make sure you breathe deeply in and out during the stretch.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the pectoralis major and, to a lesser extent, the deltoids and triceps.

Possible Alternatives

If you want to adjust the intensity of the stretch, you can try placing your arms in different positions, such as straight above your head or at a 45-degree angle. For a gentler stretch, you can use a smaller ball or perform the stretch without a ball by placing your arms against a doorframe and leaning forward carefully.
