Benefits

The "Chest Out Hands Behind" exercise helps improve your posture by stretching the chest muscles and pulling the shoulders back. This may reduce neck and back pain that often occurs in people who spend a lot of time behind a computer. In addition, performing this exercise regularly may increase flexibility in your shoulders and contribute to a stronger upper body.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Applying too much pressure: Make sure to gradually increase the stretch to prevent injuries.
  • ! Incorrect posture: It is important to keep your back straight and pull your shoulders back without arching your back excessively.
  • ! Ignoring your breathing: Remember to breathe deeply in and out during the exercise to achieve the maximum benefits.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the chest muscles (pectoralis major and minor) and the shoulder muscles (deltoids). The muscles in your upper back and arms are also lightly trained.

Possible Alternatives

If you want to adjust the intensity of the exercise, you can try variations such as using a resistance band to pull your arms farther back or performing the exercise while seated on a chair for greater stability. Another variation is placing your hands on your lower back instead of clasping them, which makes the exercise slightly easier.
