Benefits

  • Improves balance and stability by performing the exercise on one leg.
  • Increases strength and muscle mass in the lower-body muscles.
  • Helps correct muscle imbalances between the legs.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Leaning too far forward: This can lead to unnecessary strain on the back. Make sure your torso remains upright.
  • ! Knees collapsing inward: This can lead to injuries. Make sure your knees remain aligned with your toes.
  • ! Lowering too quickly: This reduces the effectiveness of the exercise. Lower slowly and in a controlled manner.

Main Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps and gluteal muscles. The hamstrings, calves, and core muscles are also engaged for stability.

Possible Alternatives

  • For lower intensity, you can perform the exercise without the elevated surface.
  • To increase the intensity, you can add extra weight or perform a lateral movement with your back leg on each repetition.
