Benefits

  • Improves muscle isolation and symmetry between both arms.
  • Increases focus on the biceps by training alternately.
  • Allows you to concentrate on your form and perfect the execution of each arm.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the exercise too quickly: Focus on a controlled movement for maximum muscle activation.
  • ! Using weights that are too heavy, causing you to swing: Choose a weight that allows you to perform the exercise correctly.
  • ! Moving your elbows during the exercise: Keep your elbows fixed at your sides to maintain focus on the biceps.

Key Muscles

The primary focus is on the biceps brachii. Secondary muscle groups engaged are the brachialis and brachioradialis in the forearm.

Possible Alternatives

  • Hammer Curls: For a variation that also targets the brachialis and brachioradialis more.
  • Concentration Curls: For an even higher degree of isolation per biceps.
  • Preacher Curls: To provide stability to the upper arms and reduce the tendency to cheat.
