Execution

  1. 1
Find a comfortable place and stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. 2
Lift your right leg and place the back of your right thigh against the inside of your left knee. Your right leg should be bent.
  3. 3

  4. 4
Inhale and curl the dumbbell upward toward your shoulder by moving only your forearm. Keep your upper arm still.
  5. 5
Hold the top position briefly and contract your biceps firmly.
  6. 6
Exhale and slowly lower the dumbbell back to the starting position.
  7. 7
Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch arms and legs.

Benefits

  • Improves concentration and focus on the biceps.
  • Increases core stability and balance.
  • Isolating the biceps supports more effective muscle building.
  • Improves coordination between different muscle groups.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Using too much weight, which can lead to poor form and possible injuries.
  • ! Failing to keep the upper arm stable, causing muscles other than the biceps to take over the work.
  • ! Performing the exercise too quickly, placing more emphasis on momentum than muscular strength.

Primary Muscles

The primary focus is on the biceps brachii. The forearms are also trained, with the shoulders and core muscles involved to a lesser extent for stability.

Possible Alternatives

  • For beginners: Use a lighter weight or perform the exercise without weight to learn the correct form.
  • For advanced users: Increase the weight or add a twist at the top of the curl for extra intensity.
  • Alternatively, the exercise can also be performed seated for those who have difficulty with balance.
