Keep your elbows close to your body during the curl.
  4. 4
Return to the starting position and repeat the movement with your left leg.
  5. 5
Alternate between right and left for the desired number of repetitions.

Benefits

  • Improves coordination between your upper and lower body.
  • Slightly increases your heart rate, contributing to fat burning.
  • Strengthens multiple muscle groups simultaneously, saving time.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the movements too quickly: Focus on the quality of each repetition rather than speed.
  • ! Keeping your elbows too far from your body: This can cause unnecessary tension in your shoulders.
  • ! Using weights that are too heavy: Start with lighter weights to ensure proper form.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the biceps brachii. The quadriceps, hamstrings, and core muscles are also activated by the stepping movement, providing a full-body workout.

Possible Alternatives

  • To increase the intensity, you can add a lunge instead of a step.
  • Use resistance bands instead of dumbbells for a different form of resistance.
  • Perform the exercise on a BOSU ball to further improve core stability.
