Looking for software for your personal training business? Feature checklists only tell part of the story. What matters is how you coach clients, organise your team and keep track of payments.

This comparison uses three providers’ published information. FITsociety publishes this article. The assessment is our interpretation, not an independent product test. Information checked on 2 November 2026.

Three providers with different package structures

  • ABC Trainerize
    • Published offering: Training programmes, nutrition and communication; Business features for sales and bookings
    • What to check: Client seats, add-ons, app branding and payment fees
  • Gymkee
    • Published offering: Coaching with a client app, training and nutrition planning, and tiered plans
    • What to check: Active clients, additional coaches and app customisation versus a separate store app
  • FITsociety
    • Published offering: Coaching, member management, subscriptions, invoicing and scheduling
    • What to check: Member and coach limits, required features and app branding

This overview describes the documented offering. It does not rate usability or reliability. Test those against the way your business actually works.

Trainerize: compare the complete configuration

Trainerize also offers bookings and business features. Identify a specific problem before considering a switch. First check what your current setup already supports and whether an add-on would address the gap.

Published prices are in US dollars and depend on client seats and extensions. Request the configuration you need, including recurring and one-off costs.

Gymkee: check client limits and branding separately

The German pricing page lists monthly Starter at €34 for five active clients, Pro at €79 for 35, and Business at €149 for unlimited active clients, excluding VAT. Confirm current terms for your business.

Check additional coach costs and the app experience you want. Custom colours or a logo inside a platform app are different from a separate app-store listing.

FITsociety: test coaching and administration together

Use the demo to follow a complete client journey, from intake and planning to ongoing coaching and administration. That is how you can judge whether the combination suits your workflow.

Published monthly plans include Coach at €159 for 100 members and two coaches, and Team at €259 for 600 members and ten coaches. A white-label app is an add-on for both. Always check the current proposal.

What changes at 50, 100 or 200 clients?

  • 50
    • FITsociety by member limit: Coach
    • Gymkee by active-client limit: Business
    • Trainerize: Check the configuration for 50 coaching clients
  • 100
    • FITsociety by member limit: Coach
    • Gymkee by active-client limit: Business
    • Trainerize: Check the configuration for 100 coaching clients
  • 200
    • FITsociety by member limit: Team
    • Gymkee by active-client limit: Business
    • Trainerize: Check the configuration for 200 coaching clients

This is a mapping of published quantity limits, not a recommendation for the cheapest complete package. Team size, additional requirements and different definitions of a client may change the choice.

Compare the full cost

Add up the base plan, extensions, additional accounts, payment fees and setup. Compare the same contract period, currency and tax basis. Include the other tools you would still need.

Then measure your own working week. How often do you enter data twice, look for messages or check payment status? Use that measurement instead of assuming a general time-saving claim applies to you.

Run the same five-step test

Ask each provider to use the same fictional client and the same requirements.

  1. Start: a client completes your intake. Where do you review the answers?
  2. Planning: you assign training and, where needed, nutrition support. What does the client see?
  3. Coaching: a check-in comes back. How do you record an adjustment?
  4. Team: a second coach takes over. What information and permissions do they receive?
  5. Administration: you sell your actual service. How do you identify the payment, invoice and next step?

Record whether each step works directly, needs additional setup or remains unresolved. Only mark it confirmed after seeing the workflow and the required configuration.

When a switch is worth exploring

A switch becomes interesting when it solves an important operational problem. If your existing system works well, first consider whether a configuration change or extension would be enough.

Start migration planning with a sample export and an agreed data list. Contact details, training history, subscriptions and payment authorisations each require separate checks.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best software for personal trainers?

It depends on your services. Compare the client journey, team collaboration and full cost through the same practical test.

Is FITsociety always cheaper?

There is no universal answer. Request a complete proposal for your client numbers, features, payment processing and contract period.

Can I move my entire history immediately?

Have a small sample export checked first. Agree what can move and what needs to remain in an accessible archive.

Test your own coaching workflow

Bring your service offering, client count and a specific operational problem to the demo.
