  6. 6
Squeeze your triceps at full extension and hold this position briefly.
  7. 7
Exhale and slowly return to the starting position.

Benefits

  • Isolation of the triceps for targeted training.
  • The ability to train each arm separately for balanced development.
  • Improves shoulder stability by activating supporting muscle groups.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the movement too quickly, which can lead to less effective muscle activation and an increased risk of injury.
  • ! Using too much weight, causing form to break down and shifting the emphasis from the triceps to other muscle groups.
  • ! Not fully extending the arms during the extension, resulting in reduced triceps activation.

Primary Muscles

The primary focus of this exercise is the triceps brachii, particularly the long head of the triceps. The forearms and the muscles around the shoulder girdle are also engaged to a lesser extent.

Possible Alternatives

  • For a lighter variation, perform the exercise with a resistance band instead of the crossover machine.
  • To increase the intensity, try the exercise with a heavier weight, but make sure to maintain proper form.
  • If you don't have access to a crossover machine, you can perform a similar movement with dumbbells or a triceps rope attachment on a cable machine.
