Common Mistakes

  • ! Leaning too far forward: Make sure your body remains in a straight line throughout the exercise to engage the correct muscles.
  • ! Elbows too far apart: Keep your elbows close to your body to maintain focus on the triceps.
  • ! Lowering or rising too quickly: Perform the movement in a controlled manner to achieve maximum muscle activation.

Primary Muscles

The primary focus of this exercise is the triceps brachii, the large muscle at the back of the upper arm. The shoulders and chest muscles are also engaged lightly for stability.

Possible Alternatives

  • For beginners: Reduce the intensity by leaning on your knees instead of your toes.
  • For advanced exercisers: Increase the intensity by wearing a weighted vest or placing your feet on an elevated surface.
  • As a variation: Try the exercise with one arm at a time for an extra challenge and to address any muscle imbalances.
