Benefits

Dumbbell Standing Alternate Vertical Front Raises offer several benefits. They improve muscle balance between your left and right sides, increase shoulder strength and muscular endurance, and improve overall shoulder mobility and stability.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Using weights that are too heavy: This can lead to poor form and possible injuries. Start light and gradually increase the weight.
  • ! Moving too quickly: A controlled movement ensures maximum muscle activation. Avoid swinging the weights.
  • ! Lifting too high: Lifting the dumbbells above shoulder height can place unnecessary strain on the shoulders.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the anterior deltoids, the front of your shoulders. The trapezius, your upper back, and the serratus anterior, your side muscles, are also trained lightly.

Possible Alternatives

If you want to adjust the intensity of the exercise, you can vary it with the following alternatives:

  • Lighter or heavier dumbbells: Depending on your strength level.
  • Front Raises with both arms simultaneously: This increases the stability demands on your core.
  • Including wrist rotations: Rotate your wrists so that your palms face the ceiling at the highest point for additional activation of the shoulder muscles.
