Benefits

  • Improves muscle balance and symmetry between both arms.
  • Strengthens the shoulder joints, contributing to better posture and a reduced risk of injury.
  • Increases flexibility and range of motion in the shoulders.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the exercise too quickly: use a controlled movement to achieve maximum muscle activation.
  • ! Using weights that are too heavy: this can lead to poor form and possible injuries.
  • ! Shrugging your shoulders during the exercise: keep your shoulders low and relaxed to activate the correct muscles.

Main Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the deltoids (shoulder muscles), with secondary involvement of the trapezius (neck and upper back muscles) and biceps.

Possible Alternatives

  • To increase the intensity, you can perform the exercise on one leg to further improve your balance and core stability.
  • For a lighter variation, you can perform the exercise seated, which helps maintain torso stability.
  • Use resistance bands instead of dumbbells for a different form of resistance.
