  • Strengthens the core through the half-kneeling position.

  • May contribute to better posture by strengthening the upper back.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the exercise too quickly: Use a controlled movement to get the most out of the exercise and prevent injuries.
  • ! Using weights that are too heavy: Start with lighter weights to ensure proper form.
  • ! Not fully extending the arms: Ensure that your arms are fully extended in the top position for maximum effectiveness.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the deltoids (shoulders), while also engaging the triceps, upper back, and core for stability and strength.

Possible Alternatives

  • Standing Military Press: For those who find the half-kneeling position too challenging, the standing variation can be a good alternative.
  • Arnold Press: A variation in which you rotate the dumbbells while pressing upward, providing additional work for the shoulders and upper back.
  • Using a Resistance Band: If dumbbells are unavailable, a resistance band can provide an effective alternative.
