Benefits

  • Improves posture by strengthening the back and shoulder muscles.
  • Helps prevent shoulder injuries by strengthening the stabilizing muscles.
  • Can be performed anywhere, making it ideal for home or travel.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the movement too quickly: use a controlled movement to train the muscles effectively.
  • ! Bending too far forward: this can lead to back discomfort. Keep your back straight.
  • ! Shrugging your shoulders: keep your shoulders down to activate the correct muscles.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the rear deltoids (back of the shoulders). The rhomboids and trapezius muscles (mid-back) are also engaged.

Possible Alternatives

  • To increase the intensity, use a resistance band with more resistance.
  • For a lighter variation, use a band with less resistance or perform the exercise without a band.
  • You can also try performing the exercise seated on a chair for greater stability.
