Fully extend your arms until they are parallel to the floor.
  6. 6
Hold this position for a few seconds, then slowly return your arms to the starting position.
  7. 7
Repeat this movement for the desired number of repetitions.

Benefits

  • Improves shoulder stability and mobility.
  • Helps prevent shoulder injuries by strengthening the surrounding muscles.
  • Increases muscular endurance and strength.
  • Can easily be adapted to any fitness level by changing the resistance of the band.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the movement too quickly: Make sure to perform the movement slowly and in a controlled manner to train the muscles effectively.
  • ! Stretching the band too tightly: Start with light tension and gradually increase it to prevent overloading.
  • ! Shrugging the shoulders: Keep your shoulders low and relaxed to prevent tension in your neck.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the deltoids (shoulder muscles), particularly the middle deltoids. The trapezius (upper back) and rotator cuff muscles are also trained.

Possible Alternatives

  • To increase the intensity, you can use a band with higher resistance.
  • For a lighter variation, you can perform the exercise without a resistance band by moving your arms as if you were holding the band.
  • Try performing the exercise while seated on a chair for stability, especially if you have balance problems.
