Benefits

The Diagonal Lunge helps improve your overall body balance and coordination. It not only strengthens the leg muscles but also improves hip flexibility. In addition, this exercise may help reduce the risk of injury by strengthening the muscles around the knees and ankles.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Stepping too far forward, causing the knees to move past the toes.
  • ! Not lowering deeply enough, preventing the exercise from reaching its full potential.
  • ! Losing balance by performing the movement too quickly.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps and gluteal muscles. The hamstrings, calves, and core muscles are also trained for stability.

Possible Alternatives

To adjust the intensity of the Diagonal Lunge, you can add weights such as dumbbells or a kettlebell. Beginners can simplify the exercise by taking a smaller step or using support, such as holding onto a chair or wall.
