Benefits

  • Improves lower-body strength and stability.
  • Helps improve balance and coordination.
  • Can be performed anywhere without the need for equipment.
  • Increases flexibility in the hips and legs.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Leaning too far forward during the squat, which can put pressure on the back.
  • ! Allowing the knees to collapse too far inward or outward.
  • ! Lifting the heels off the ground during the squat.
  • ! Not lifting the leg high enough, which reduces the effectiveness of the exercise.

Targeted Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps and glute muscles. The hamstrings, calves, and core muscles are also trained for stability.

Possible Alternatives

  • For beginners, the height of the leg lift can be reduced.
  • Use a wall or chair for extra balance during the leg lift.
