Benefits

In addition to building muscle mass, this exercise also helps improve grip strength, promotes good posture, and reduces the risk of shoulder injuries by strengthening the surrounding muscles.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the movement too quickly: Use a controlled movement to achieve maximum muscle activation.
  • ! Using too much weight: This can lead to poor form and possible injuries.
  • ! Not fully stretching or contracting: Make sure you use the full range of motion for optimal results.

Primary Muscles

The primary focus is on the latissimus dorsi, but this exercise also trains the biceps, trapezius, and the muscles around the shoulder blades.

Possible Alternatives

  • Use a resistance band instead of a machine for a different form of resistance.
  • Try the pull-up or chin-up as a bodyweight alternative.
  • For lower intensity, reduce the weight and increase the number of repetitions.
