Single-Arm Cable Crossover

  • Single-Arm Cable Crossover
  • Single-Arm Cable Crossover

Introduction: The Single-Arm Cable Crossover is an effective exercise for isolating the chest muscles. Using one arm at a time helps improve muscle balance and focuses on upper-body stability.

Execution: Begin by setting the cable machine to a high position. Grip the handle with one hand while facing the cable machine. Step forward to create tension in the cable. Slightly bend your knees and lean forward from your hips, keeping your back straight. Pull the handle diagonally downward and across your body toward the opposite hip. Slowly and under control, allow the cable to return to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch arms.

Primary Muscles: This exercise primarily targets the pectoralis major and, to a lesser extent, the anterior deltoids and triceps.

Benefits: The Single-Arm Cable Crossover helps develop a symmetrical chest, improves muscle definition, and increases core stability as your body stabilizes against the unilateral force of the cable.

Common Mistakes: A common mistake is performing the movement too quickly, which causes a loss of control. Focus on a slow, controlled movement and avoid using too much weight, which can lead to poor form and possible injuries.

Possible Alternatives: To vary the intensity, you can adjust the cable height or use a staggered stance for greater stability. Another variation is to perform the exercise with a slight rotation of the torso during the pull to place more emphasis on the oblique muscles.
