EZ Barbell Anti-Gravity Press

The EZ Barbell Anti-Gravity Press is a dynamic exercise that focuses on strengthening your upper body, with a special emphasis on the shoulders and triceps. This exercise stands out through the use of an EZ bar, which provides a more comfortable grip and reduces pressure on your wrists, allowing you to focus more on muscle contraction.

  5. 5
Slowly and under control, lower the bar back to the starting position while exhaling.
  6. 6

Benefits

  • Improves shoulder stability and mobility.
  • Strengthens the triceps and helps build upper-body strength.
  • The EZ bar provides a more natural grip, making the exercise more comfortable for your wrists and elbows.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the exercise too quickly: Use a controlled movement to achieve maximum muscle activation.
  • ! Using too much weight: This can lead to improper form and possible injuries. Start light and increase the weight gradually.
  • ! Allowing the elbows to flare too far outward: Keep your elbows under the bar to activate the correct muscles and prevent injuries.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the deltoids (shoulders), with secondary involvement of the triceps and upper chest muscles.

Possible Alternatives

  • If you do not have access to an EZ bar, you can also perform this exercise with dumbbells or a standard barbell.
  • For a lighter variation, you can perform the exercise seated, which provides additional stability.
  • To increase the intensity, try performing the exercise on an unstable surface such as a fitness ball.
