  6. 6
Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Benefits

  • Increased focus on the biceps through isolation.
  • Improved muscle definition and growth.
  • Strengthening of the grip and forearms.
  • Reduced risk of compensation by other muscles, leading to more effective training.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Using too much weight, which can lead to improper form and possible injuries.
  • ! Not fully extending the arms in the starting position, which reduces the effectiveness of the exercise.
  • ! Moving the upper arms during the exercise, which reduces biceps isolation.

Key Muscles

The primary focus of this exercise is the biceps brachii. Secondary muscle groups engaged are the brachialis and brachioradialis, which contribute to overall arm strength and definition.

Possible Alternatives

  • Use dumbbells instead of a barbell for a slight variation in grip and muscle activation.
  • Perform the exercise standing with a cable machine for constant resistance throughout the movement.
  • Try the preacher curl for another form of biceps isolation with support for the arms.
