Execution

  1. 1
Stand with both feet shoulder-width apart on the middle of the resistance band.
  2. 2
Grip the ends of the band with both hands. Make sure your palms face upward and your hands are close together.
  3. 3
Keep your elbows close to your body and bend them to pull the band upward toward your shoulders.
  4. 4
Squeeze your biceps at the top, then slowly and controllably lower the band back to the starting position.

Benefits

  • Improves biceps strength and definition.
  • The constant tension from the resistance band stimulates your muscles in a unique way.
  • Joint-friendly due to the low impact.
  • Easy to adapt to your own level by changing your foot position or choosing a different band.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the movement too quickly: use a controlled movement to activate the muscles as effectively as possible.
  • ! Moving the elbows: keep your elbows fixed at your sides to keep the focus on the biceps.
  • ! Using a resistance band that is too light: choose a band that provides enough challenge for the final repetitions.

Primary Muscles

The primary focus is on the biceps brachii. The brachialis and brachioradialis are also trained to a lesser extent.

Possible Alternatives

  • Stand on one foot for lighter resistance.
  • Use a heavier resistance band to increase the intensity.
  • Perform the exercise seated for a more stable posture.
