Lower yourself until your thighs are parallel to the floor or as low as is comfortable for you.
  5. 5
Exhale and powerfully push yourself back to the starting position, focusing on contracting your glutes.

Benefits

  • Improves lower-body strength and stability.
  • Helps burn calories through the involvement of large muscle groups.
  • Increases flexibility in the hips and improves posture.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Rounded back: Make sure your back remains straight throughout the entire movement to prevent injuries.
  • ! Knees caving inward: Keep your knees aligned with your toes to reduce pressure on your knees.
  • ! Not squatting deep enough: Try to squat as deeply as possible for maximum effect, without compromising your comfort.

Key Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus maximus, and adductors. Your core is also engaged for stability.

Possible Alternatives

  • For a lighter variation, you can perform the exercise without a kettlebell or with a lighter weight.
  • To increase the intensity, try a heavier kettlebell or add a pulse at the bottom of the squat.
  • If you are looking for variation, try the Sumo Squat with a barbell or perform the exercise on one leg for an extra challenge.
