Benefits

  • Improves lower-body strength and stability.
  • Increases hip flexibility and mobility.
  • Helps develop better balance and coordination.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Moving through the exercise too quickly: Focus on the quality of each squat, not the speed.
  • ! Arching your back: Keep your back straight and your core engaged to prevent injuries.
  • ! Stepping too far: Taking too large a step can overload the knees. Find a comfortable distance for your body.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and adductors. The core and lower back are also lightly trained for stability.

Possible Alternatives

  • To increase the intensity, you can use heavier dumbbells or place a resistance band around your thighs.
  • For beginners, the exercise can be simplified by leaving out the dumbbells and focusing on the squat movement.
