  3. 3
Drive yourself powerfully back to the starting position by pushing your right heel into the ground.
  4. 4

Benefits

  • Improves lower-body strength and endurance.
  • Increases core stability and balance.
  • Helps improve symmetry between the left and right sides of the body.
  • May help burn calories and support fat loss due to the intensity of the exercise.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Leaning too far forward during the lunge, which can place pressure on the knees.
  • ! Not lowering the knee of the rear leg far enough.
  • ! Failing to keep the dumbbells stable, which can lead to a loss of balance.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps and gluteal muscles, while also training the hamstrings, calves, and core for stability.

Possible Alternatives

  • For beginners: Perform the exercise without weights or with lighter dumbbells.
  • To increase the intensity: Increase the weight of the dumbbells or add a twist at the top of each lunge to engage the core more.
  • Alternatively, you can perform the reverse lunge for variety and to place emphasis on different muscle groups.
