Benefits

  • Improves explosive strength and speed.
  • Raises the heart rate, contributing to fat burning.
  • Improves coordination and balance.
  • Strengthens multiple muscle groups simultaneously.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Dropping too quickly: Make sure you lower into the squat position in a controlled manner to prevent injuries.
  • ! Insufficient depth: Try to lower as deeply as possible in each squat for maximum muscle activation.
  • ! Incorrect landing: Land on the balls of your feet and bend your knees to absorb the impact.

Target Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and calves. The core and lower back are also trained indirectly for stability during the jumps.

Possible Alternatives

  • For lower intensity: Perform the exercise without the jumps, doing only squats.
  • For higher intensity: Add weights, such as dumbbells or a kettlebell, to increase the resistance.
  • To shift the focus: Try single-leg jump squats for a greater challenge and to improve stability.
