Benefits

  • Improves explosive power and speed.

  • Helps improve coordination and balance.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Not fully extending: Make sure you stand fully upright on top of the box and extend your hips for the full range of motion.
  • ! Standing too close to the box: This can result in an unsafe jump. Make sure you leave enough distance to jump safely.
  • ! Poor landing: Land with both feet at the same time and bend your knees to absorb the impact.

Main Muscles

Box jumps target a wide range of muscle groups, including the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, calves, and core muscles. This exercise also helps improve explosive power in your lower body.

Possible Alternatives

  • For beginners: Start with a lower box to master the technique.
  • To increase the intensity: Use a higher box or add weight by wearing a weighted vest.
  • If jumping is not possible: Try step-ups as a low-impact alternative.
