  3. 3

  4. 4
Once you are standing fully upright, hold the position briefly and exhale.
  5. 5
Lower the barbell back to the ground in a controlled manner by pushing your hips back and slightly bending your knees.
  6. 6
Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch arms.

Benefits

The Barbell One-Arm Single-Leg Deadlift helps develop unilateral strength, which can lead to better muscle balance and a reduced risk of injury. It also improves grip strength and may contribute to better posture by strengthening the back muscles.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Rounding your back: Make sure your back stays straight throughout the entire movement to prevent injury.
  • ! Lifting too much weight: Start with a lighter weight to master proper form before increasing the weight.
  • ! Performing the movement too quickly: Perform the movement in a controlled manner to get the most out of the exercise and avoid injury.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the erector spinae, the muscles along your spine, hamstrings, glutes, and forearms. Your core and stabilizing muscles are also engaged for balance.

Possible Alternatives

If you want to adjust the intensity of the exercise, consider using dumbbells instead of a barbell. Another variation is the traditional two-handed deadlift or the sumo deadlift for a different emphasis on the muscle groups.
