Execution

  1. 1
Begin in a standard push-up position with your hands shoulder-width apart and your body in a straight line from your head to your heels.
  2. 2
As you lower yourself into a push-up, draw your right knee toward your right elbow.
  3. 3
Press yourself back up to the starting position while simultaneously returning your leg to the starting position.
  4. 4
Repeat the movement on the other side with your left knee and left elbow.
  5. 5
Alternate between right and left sides for each repetition.

Benefits

  • Improves coordination and flexibility.
  • Increases muscle activation throughout the body.
  • Helps develop functional strength through the combination of movements.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Not fully extending the arms during the upward movement.
  • ! Allowing the hips to sag or rise, resulting in incorrect body alignment.
  • ! Moving through the exercise too quickly, which often comes at the expense of form.

Key Muscles

This exercise targets the chest muscles, triceps, deltoids, and core, with extra emphasis on the obliques due to the knee movement.

Possible Alternatives

  • For beginners: Perform the exercise without bringing the knee toward the elbow, focusing on the standard push-up.
  • For advanced trainees: Add a twist by bringing the opposite knee toward the elbow, increasing core rotation.
