Row Ergometer

The row ergometer is an effective cardiovascular exercise that not only improves your endurance but also trains multiple muscle groups simultaneously. It simulates the movement of rowing on water and provides a full-body workout that builds both strength and fitness.

  6. 6

Benefits

  • Improves cardiovascular fitness and endurance.
  • Strengthens and defines the muscles in your arms, legs, back, and core.
  • Low-impact exercise, meaning it is gentle on your joints.
  • May help burn calories and support weight loss.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Leaning too far forward or backward, which can lead to back problems.
  • ! Pulling the handles too high or too low, which is inefficient and may place stress on the wrong muscles.
  • ! Rowing too quickly without control over the movement, which reduces effectiveness and increases the risk of injury.

Key Muscles

  • Back muscles (latissimus dorsi, rhomboids, trapezius)
  • Leg muscles (quadriceps, hamstrings, calves)
  • Arm muscles (biceps, triceps)
  • Abdominal muscles (rectus abdominis, obliques)

Possible Alternatives

  • Change the resistance of the ergometer to increase or decrease the intensity.
  • Try interval training by alternating between high-intensity rowing and rest periods.
  • If you do not have access to a row ergometer, you can perform similar movements with resistance bands or a cable machine.
