Benefits

  • Helps build muscle mass in the forearms, contributing to balanced arm development.
  • May reduce the risk of injuries by strengthening the muscles and tendons around the wrist.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Performing the movement too quickly, which can lead to less effective muscle activation and an increased risk of injury.
  • ! Using weights that are too heavy, causing your technique to deteriorate.
  • ! Not moving through the full range of motion, which reduces the effectiveness of the exercise.

Primary Muscles

The Wrist Curl primarily targets the forearm flexors, including the flexor carpi radialis, palmaris longus, and flexor carpi ulnaris.

Possible Alternatives

  • Reverse Wrist Curls: By facing your palms downward, you can train the forearm extensors for balanced development.
  • Wrist Roller: An excellent alternative for training both the forearm flexors and extensors.
  • Hammer Curls: Although this is a biceps exercise, it also engages the forearms and can be a good addition to your routine.
