Continue alternating at a fast pace as if running in place.

Benefits

  • Increases muscular strength and endurance, especially in the core.

  • Improves the body's flexibility and mobility.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Lifting the hips too high or allowing them to drop too low; keep your body in a straight line.
  • ! Moving too quickly without maintaining proper form; focus on the movement and core stability.
  • ! Placing the arms too far in front of you, which puts additional pressure on your shoulders.

Key Muscles

Mountain Climbers target your core, including your abdominal muscles and lower back, as well as your shoulders, chest, triceps, hamstrings, and glutes.

Possible Alternatives

  • To reduce the intensity, perform the exercise more slowly or step one leg at a time instead of running.
  • For higher intensity, add a push-up between each leg switch or wear a weighted vest.
