Step-Up
The Step-Up is a simple but highly effective exercise that helps build strength and stability in your lower body. You can perform this exercise using only your body weight or additional weights, making it ideal for improving your balance and coordination.
Execution
-
1
Find a sturdy elevated surface, such as a bench or a step.
-
2
Stand with your feet hip-width apart, directly in front of the elevated surface.
-
3
Place your right foot on the elevated surface and drive through your heel to raise yourself until your right leg is straight.
-
4
As you come up, raise your left knee to hip height.
-
5
Lower your left foot back to the floor, followed by your right foot, to return to the starting position.
-
6
Repeat the movement, switching legs after a set of repetitions.
