Side Hip Lift
The Side Hip Lift is an effective exercise for strengthening your hips, glutes, and core. This exercise targets the stabilization of your lateral muscles and can help improve your balance and coordination.
Execution:
- Lie on your side with your legs extended and your feet stacked on top of each other.
- Support yourself on your forearm, with your elbow directly beneath your shoulder.
- Lift your hips off the ground, forming a straight line from your head to your feet.
- Hold this position briefly, then slowly lower your hips back to the ground.
- Repeat the exercise for the desired number of repetitions, then switch sides.
主要肌肉:
- Gluteus medius and minimus (lateral glute muscles)
- Obliques (side abdominal muscles)
- Adductors (inner thighs)
- Abductors (outer thighs)
Benefits:
- Strengthens and tones the hips and glutes.
- Improves lower-body stability and balance.
- May contribute to better posture and reduced back pain.
Common Mistakes:
- Allowing your hips to sag during the exercise.
- Straining your neck by not keeping your head aligned with your spine.
- Performing the movement too quickly, causing you to lose control.
Possible Alternatives:
- If the exercise is too intense, you can start with your knees bent and lift your hips from this position.
- To increase the intensity, you can place a resistance band around your thighs or a weight on your hips.
- Another variation is to perform the exercise in a side plank position while lifting your top leg with your hips raised.
