  4. 4
Hold this position briefly at the top, then slowly lower yourself back to the starting position.
  5. 5

Benefits

  • Improves muscle definition and strength in the calves.
  • Provides variable resistance, which may help break through plateaus in your training.
  • Can be performed anywhere, making it ideal for home workouts or travel.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Moving up and down too quickly: Use a controlled movement to maximally activate the muscles.
  • ! Arching the back: Keep your back straight to prevent injuries and train the correct muscles.
  • ! Lifting the heels too far off the ground: This can lead to a loss of balance and a less effective workout.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles in the calves.

Possible Alternatives

  • To increase the intensity, you can use a heavier resistance band.
  • For a lighter variation, perform the exercise without a resistance band by pushing yourself upward against a wall or another fixed surface.
  • You can also try single-leg calf raises for an additional challenge and to improve balance.
