Instructions

  1. Begin by standing facing a bench with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Lean forward from your hips and place your hands on the bench. Make sure your back remains straight.
  3. Push your hips back and lower your head between your arms so that you feel a stretch in your back.
  4. Hold this position for 15 to 30 seconds.
  5. Slowly return to the starting position.

This exercise primarily targets the muscles in the lower back, but the shoulders and hamstrings may also experience a light stretch.
