Benefits

The Quadruped Arm Extension offers several benefits. It improves your core stability, which is essential for good posture and preventing back pain. It also strengthens the muscles around your shoulders and arms, contributing to better function and a lower risk of injuries in daily life and during other sporting activities.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Too fast: Focus on a slow, controlled movement to maximize the effectiveness of the exercise.
  • ! Allowing the back to sag: Keep your back straight and your core engaged to maintain proper form.
  • ! Lifting the arm too high: Keep your arm at shoulder height to prevent overloading your shoulder.

Primary Muscles

This exercise primarily trains the rectus abdominis (abdominal muscles), erector spinae (back muscles), deltoids (shoulders), and, to a lesser extent, the triceps.

Possible Alternatives

To adjust the intensity of the exercise, you can add a leg extension while extending your arm. This increases the challenge for your core. Another variation is to use light weights in your hands to increase resistance and stimulate muscle building.
