Benefits

  • Strengthens and tones the inner thighs.
  • Helps improve the muscle balance between the inner and outer thigh areas.
  • Improves pelvic stability and may contribute to better posture and gait.
  • May reduce the risk of injury by strengthening often-neglected muscle groups.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Moving too quickly: Make sure to perform the movement slowly and under control to achieve maximum muscle activation.
  • ! Using too much weight: Start with a lighter weight to ensure proper form and avoid overloading the muscles.
  • ! Not using the full range of motion: Make sure to use a full range of motion for optimal muscle training.

Primary Muscles

The primary focus of the Seated Machine Hip Adductor is the adductors, the muscle group on the inside of your thighs. These include the adductor longus, adductor brevis, adductor magnus, gracilis, and pectineus.

Possible Alternatives

  • Band Adductions: A great alternative without a machine, using a resistance band around your ankles.
  • Lateral Lunges: This exercise also targets the adductors and requires no special equipment.
  • Cable Machine Adductions: For those with access to a cable machine, this variation offers another way to train the inner thighs.
