  5. 5

Benefits

The Oblique Cross Punch is not only great for building muscle strength, but also improves your coordination and balance. It is an excellent cardio exercise that can help burn calories and improve your overall fitness. In addition, this exercise can help improve the flexibility and mobility of your torso.

Common Mistakes

  • ! Going too fast: Focus on the quality of the movement rather than the speed. This promotes better muscle activation and reduces the risk of injury.
  • ! Not rotating fully: Make sure to rotate your hips and feet during the punch. This increases oblique activation.
  • ! Holding your arms too low: Keep your hands by your chin between punches to maintain good form and train your arms.

Targeted Muscles

This exercise primarily targets the obliques, but also trains the rectus abdominis, shoulders, arms, and, to a lesser extent, the legs and back muscles through the rotational movement and stabilization.

Possible Alternatives

To adjust the intensity of the Oblique Cross Punch, you can wear weighted gloves for additional resistance or increase the speed of the movement. For beginners, it may be useful to practice the movement without rotating the feet and hips first, focusing on the arms and abdominal muscles.
